Woodburn
Finally!!! We had great weather at a home-division race! I think I actually got some color for a change! Woodburn is always a fun race with the weather usually being pretty nice, the golf cart races, and lots of familiar faces! It was such a nice, relaxing weekend. We qualified number one which was awesome and got “Byron” first round! Bye runs can set people at ease but we try to treat it as any other race. I swear if we entered in top dragster though, we would have been quite the contender because we ran three 5.42’s in a row! Thankfully, all went well and unfortunately, we ended up in the final against Severance, which we all know, is a phenomenal racer. In the end, Joey beat us in the final but I couldn’t have picked a more deserving team to win. They are great people and we are really happy for them! So cool that he won at his home track and on his birthday!! Now Woodburn just wouldn’t be the same if we didn’t go and have some amazing Chinese food at Richard’s restaurant (I don’t even think I know the name!) after the race. The guy already knows what we want when we walk through the door! It was a great way to end the weekend! We were all beat-tired of course when we got home at 1 in the morning but it was all worth it! I can’t wait for the Seattle National in a week…hopefully “Mr. Sun” can show his face again! For now, I will be spending most of my time at the shop (as usual)! See you guys there!
